Creative Rationale
Touted as the future of residential and economic growth within
Greater Western Sydney (GWS), the ‘Areotropolis’ will centralise the existing diverse culture and expand to unprecedented heights. The inspiration for this poster was the colour of the Roland-Garros tennis courts and the clay that bonds the surface together. Using the colour of the poster to mirror clay signifies sustainability within the development of building frameworks and the new structures that are set to take place
in Western Sydney. The thick white lines are reflective of tennis baselines and service lines as well as a central network system that connects the surrounding suburbs together in GWS. The aeroplane represents the incoming airport in Badgerys’s creek which is headed into ‘The Future’, the tag line acting like a landing strip for its impending arrival.
